// mission

Built for the dual-threat developer.

You shouldn't have to choose between a great gaming setup and a great development environment. Nebulite ships with both, out of the box, on a stable Fedora base.

๐ŸŽฎ

Gaming-ready

Steam, Proton-GE, Lutris, and performance tweaks pre-installed. Spend time playing, not configuring kernel parameters.

โšก

Dev environment included

VS Code, Git, essential runtimes, and terminal tools are part of the default install. Open the lid and start building.

๐Ÿช

Space-themed desktop

Custom KDE theme with a deep space aesthetic. All themes are also available on the KDE Store if you want to mix things up.

๐Ÿ”„

Easy updates

A dedicated drivers and updates app keeps your system current without hunting for commands. Semi-rolling release cadence.

๐ŸŽจ

Full KDE customisation

KDE Plasma gives you complete control over how your desktop looks and behaves. GNOME is also available as a desktop choice on the same ISO.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Fedora roots

Built on Nobara/Fedora with RPMFusion and Nebulite's own repositories. Modern packages, reliable base. Completely independent.

// mission notes

Good to know before you land.

Nebulite is a hobby project. Here's what that means for you.

๐Ÿ›ธ
Hobby project, no warranty. Nebulite is maintained for the love of it. It's not intended for mission-critical production systems, and there is no professional support. Use at your own risk.
๐Ÿ”
Secure boot is not currently supported. You'll need to disable secure boot in your UEFI settings. A MOK (Machine Owner Key) implementation is in progress.
๐ŸŒŒ
Fully independent project. Nebulite is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Fedora Project, Red Hat, or the Nobara Project. It uses their code and packages as a foundation but is entirely separate.
๐Ÿ“ฆ
Third-party repositories. Nebulite ships with RPMFusion Free and Nonfree, and its own repositories, pre-enabled. These contain legally redistributable software not included in Fedora by default.

// bug support

Found something broken? Let's fix it.

Every bug matters โ€” no matter how small. As someone who gets how much a minor annoyance can disrupt your flow, I take bug reports seriously and aim to fix them fast.

๐Ÿ›
No bug is too small. Whether it's a pixel out of place, a package that won't install, or something that just feels off โ€” if it bothers you, it's worth reporting. I understand firsthand that small things can matter a lot.
๐Ÿ“‹
How to report a bug. Open an issue on the Nebulite GitHub repository. Include what you were doing, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. Screenshots and terminal output are always helpful.
โšก
Fast turnaround on minor bugs. Minor bugs are a priority. Fixing the small stuff that grinds people's gears is one of the core goals of this project โ€” you shouldn't have to live with annoyances.
๐Ÿ”ญ
Not sure if it's a bug? Report it anyway. The worst that can happen is it turns out to be expected behaviour โ€” and I'll explain why. When in doubt, file the report.

Built by a 15-year-old. Against the odds.

Nebulite OS was designed and built by a 15-year-old who refused to let anything get in the way of making something real.

That included her own school โ€” which, rather than supporting the project, actively made things harder. Blocking tools, discouraging the work, and creating friction at every turn. Most people would have given up. This included the head of IT, he constantly watched her screen, blocking all her tools right infront of her. Even her own website! He also gave her a ban on everything including the wifi so she couldnt even do her own schoolwork This almost shut her down. but even through all this she still finished the distro and made it what it is today.

She didn't stop though. She shipped a Linux distro instead. ๐Ÿš€
